By
God's providence our name is Christ Covenant Church,
therefore, we seek to lead Christ-centered lives in covenant
with God and each other. The covenant that God established
with us reconciles us to Him and defines the way we live
in relationship with Him. Our chief end is to glorify God
and enjoy Him forever; therefore, we set forth these objectives:
Worship: We
worship as families focusing on the Triune God: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit with the proclamation of the
whole counsel of God. Our hymns and spiritual songs
will serve to acknowledge God's wonderful attributes.
Our prayers will express our reverence and awe of
God’s sovereign majesty, confess our sinfulness before
Him and give thanks for His redemptive work through
Christ’s grace and for His loving provision of every
good thing.
Discipleship: The goal will be to teach "what man is to believe
about God and what duties God requires of man" (WSC) and "equip the saints
for the work of the ministry" (Eph. 4:11-12). Each individual will be
discipled to the point where he or she in turn can disciple others. Relying
on the Holy Spirit, this will be accomplished by a systematic study of
God's Word from a redemptive-historical perspective, examining each part
in light of the whole; and a thorough training in the Reformed faith.
Evangelism: Our spoken and unspoken witness will proclaim the
message of salvation through faith in Christ alone. We will be intentional
in our welcoming of friends and visitors. We will serve our neighbors
in God-honoring ways to show the love of Christ to a lost and hurting
world. We will prayerfully, financially and actively support our Missionaries
around the world by teaching our children and youth the importance of
missions at home and abroad; encouraging them to participate.
The purpose of the Christ Covenant Church is
to be God's people, joyfully and triumphantly proclaiming the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, among all nations to the praise of God's
glorious grace. In short, God's people for Christ's glory!
We
believe that the chief end of Christ Covenant
Church is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
In fulfilling this purpose, we affirm three priorities:
First is
upward, for our love and worship of God is the highest
priority of the Christian life (Mark 12:28-34; Matthew
22:34-40).
Second is
inward, because our care for the discipleship of
the Body of Christ is the earthly responsibility
of the Church (Ephesians 4:4-6; 5:1, 2; Galations
6:2).
Third is
outward, for Christ, the Head of the Church calls
us as His Body to mission, evangelism, and social
concern (Matthew 28:18-20; James 2:14:18; Luke 6:27-36;
John 5:1-15). We believe that none of these priorities
should be emphasized at the expense of the others,
but that together they fulfill the directives of
God's holy, inspired inerrant, and infallible Word.
